Jubilee Milestone

As Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Aberdeenshire West,

It was both a rare privilege and a profound pleasure to stand before Brother Andy Lawrie PPGM on the evening of Wednesday 18th March 2026 at Lodge Royal Braemar No.1195 to take part in a truly special moment in the life of the  Lodge and this celebration.

Fifty years of service to Freemasonry is no ordinary milestone. It is a testament not simply to time served, but to a lifetime of commitment, dedication, and unwavering support for the principles and values we all hold dear. To be entrusted with the presentation of this Fifty Year Diploma and Jewel from the Grand Lodge of Scotland is, for me, a great honour indeed.

Our Brother Andy Lawrie and his  journey through the Craft has been one marked by distinction and quiet example. As a Past Master of Lodge Royal Braemar No.1195, he has guided with wisdom and steadiness. As a Past Provincial Grand Master, he has given leadership on a wider stage, shaping and supporting the Province with vision and integrity. And across the many other Orders in which he has laboured, his contribution has been both meaningful and enduring.

But beyond titles and honours, it is the manner in which these duties have been carried out that truly defines the man. With humility, with generosity of spirit, and with a genuine care for his Brethren, he has enriched not only this Lodge, but the Craft in general.

Tonight, we do more than mark the passing of fifty years — we celebrate a legacy. A legacy of service, of friendship, and of a life well lived within Freemasonry.

My Brother, on behalf of us all, it gives me immense pleasure to present to you this Fifty Year Diploma and Jewel. May you wear it with pride, as a symbol of all that you have given, and all that you continue to represent within our Order.
